Whom did you marry?
ISAIAH 54 5 For thy Maker [is] thine husband; the LORD of hosts [is] his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. 6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
II CORINTHIANS 11 2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Lifted you from sin
ONENESS_ JEFF.IN V-10 N-2 SUNDAY_ And let me turn that right back over. And the churches through manmade dogma, manmade creeds is presenting a great front to the people, and they're falling for it, which is death. No church will clean your soul. No creed can clean your soul. Only the Blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse your soul, God's remedy. It's backed up.
ONENESS_ JEFF.IN V-10 N-2 SUNDAY_ So it's just false, but people lean upon the understanding of the wise, and they die by it. And people today are leaning upon the understanding of--of creeds and denominations, and millions like slaughtered pigs are plunging their way into a bottomless pit of hell. What a shame it is. We are forbidden to lean upon our own understandings. We cannot try.
Took up His abode in your soul
CONTEST.THE_ JEFF.IN V-10 N-7 MONDAY_ Now, when the devil moved out, that God-- gives God an opportunity to move in. So--and when he goes out, let the Holy Spirit come in. Don't just leave it there. If you do, just repent of your sins and go on, then you're going to be worse off than ever. But get that place where Satan once lived and occupied, get it filled with the Holy Spirit of God, and then you'll have the strength of God's Word in you, manifested, and cast out devils. Contest is on. The evening Lights are shining. God's Holy Spirit is present.
Satisfies the soul
THIRST_ TUCSON.AZ V-16 N-6 SUNDAY_ The streams God sent to satisfy you in the natural, Satan has polluted every one of them. He's put the poisoned dope in every one that he could get into. That's right. He took that great stream of the church. That, that was God's way. Jesus said, "Upon this Rock I'll build My church, and the gates of hell can't prevail against It."
THIRST_ TUCSON.AZ V-16 N-6 SUNDAY_ He built It upon the revelation of Who He was. He said, "Blessed art thou, Simon, son of Jonas, flesh and blood never revealed this to you, but My Father which is in heaven has revealed this to you." Not by knowledge, you didn't learn it by books. You didn't learn it by joining church. You didn't learn it in the shops. You didn't. But the Holy Ghost Itself has brought the Person of Jesus Christ to you then, "Upon this Rock I'll build My church, and the gates of hell can't prevail against It." That holy thirst has been satisfied in the Person of Jesus Christ.
GREATEST.GIFT.IN.BIBLE_ EDMONTON.ALBERTA SUNDAY_ A E-41 You say, "Now, I know the Bible better than you do, Brother Branham." You don't have life by knowing the Bible. You don't have life by joining church. You don't have life by being baptized. You don't have life by knowing your catechism. You don't have your life by being a minister. To know Him is Life, not to know the catechism or your church rules, but to know Him is Life.
GREATEST.GIFT.IN.BIBLE_ EDMONTON.ALBERTA SUNDAY_ A And that thirst that God give you, isn't to be spent on a church either. The devil if he can't make you go to dances, and drink, and live immoral, and those things, he's perverted it to make you join church. And that's still perverted, because joining church doesn't give you life.
GREATEST.GIFT.IN.BIBLE_ EDMONTON.ALBERTA SUNDAY_ A E-42 But the only way you can have Life is to take that thirst and satisfy it by the drinking at the Fountain that never runs dry, that beautiful Holy Spirit that rains from God out of heaven. That's the way you find Life is to know Him; not know His Book, but to know Him; not to know your church, but to know Him; not to thirst to satisfy the pastor, but to satisfy the Lord. That's that holy thirst. That's what it's in you for. And would you quench that with things of the world. It's death. It's perverted.
The Living Word
JOHN 6:63 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life.
206-2 PERGAMEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.5 When any man turns from the Word of God and joins a church instead of receiving the Holy Spirit, that man dies. Dead! That is what he is. Don't join a church. Don't get into organization and get taken up with creeds and tradition or anything that takes the place of the Word and the Spirit or you're dead. It's all over. You're dead. Eternally separated from God!
206-2 PERGAMEAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.5 That is what has happened in every age since. God delivers the people. They come out by the blood, sanctified by the Word, walk through the waters of baptism and get filled with the Spirit; but after awhile the first love cools off and someone gets the idea that they ought to organize in order to preserve themselves and make a name for themselves, and they organize themselves right back in the second generation and sometimes even before then. They no longer have the Spirit of God, just a form of worship. They are dead. They have hybridized themselves with creed and form and there is no life in them.
INVISIBLE.UNION.OF.THE.BRIDE_ SHP.LA V-2 N-15 THURSDAY_ Now, notice, you're not only that, but you're going to the wedding in the sky, and you are wearing the wedding band of predestinated unmerited grace, a wedding band of grace, unmerited of your own. God did it Himself. He knew you before the foundation of the world, so He slipped the wedding band on you there: put your name on the Book. What a Thanksgiving. Hallelujah. Praise our God.
He perfected you for Himself
THINGS.THAT.ARE.TO.BE_ RIALTO.CA V-4 N-6 SUNDAY_ He's gone to prepare a place, a perfect place, where no evil exist, no sickness exists, no old age exists, no death exists. It's a perfect place calling you to that perfection, and you have to be perfect to get there. The Bible said so. Jesus said, "Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father in heaven is perfect." And it's a perfect Kingdom, so it must be a perfect people come; because you have to stand and be married to a perfect Son of God; and you must be a perfect Bride. So how can you do it through anything else but the perfect Word of God, which is the Waters of separation that washes us from our sins. Amen.
THINGS.THAT.ARE.TO.BE_ RIALTO.CA V-4 N-6 SUNDAY_ That's right. The Blood of Jesus Christ... Think of it. The dripping, bloody Word (Amen.), the Blood, the--the Word of God bleeding Blood to wash the Bride in. Amen. Yes, sir. She stands perfect, virgin, unadulterated; She never sinned in the first place. Amen. She was trapped into it. See?
CHRIST.IS.THE.MYSTERY.OF.GOD.REVEALED_ JEFFERSONVILLE.IN V-3 N- 7 SUNDAY_ 441 And see God Himself making Himself known, and pulsating Himself through the life, that you're a prisoner to Him now. You are His love- prisoner. The world can laugh, make fun of them, say, "Come on out." You could go, but you're a prisoner. See? The other women can act Hollywood, but not you. You're a prisoner. Amen. See, you're a prisoner to Christ. Other men can smoke and drink and carry on, if they want to, and call themselves Christians, deacons, and even preachers, but not you. You're a prisoner, a prisoner to the Word. Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
MARRIAGE.OF.THE.LAMB_ PHOENIX.AZ SUNDAY_ E E-41 And when we take our pledge to Christ, if we don't become part of Him, like a woman ought to become part of a man and a man part of the woman, then we're artificial Christians. We're not really... You're really not married to that woman. You might be loyal. If you don't love your husband, and him sixty or seventy years old, and you don't love him as good as you did at the beginning, then you're really just raising his children.
MARRIAGE.OF.THE.LAMB_ PHOENIX.AZ SUNDAY_ E E-42 And that's the way the churches are, too many today. We're just taking the name of the Christian church, pretending to be the bride, when it's artificially; we're not connected with Christ in any way. We're like an artificial tooth, artificial arm, artificial eye. See, it's something that's artificial if we're just putting it on. Well, you can't put on Christianity. You've got to be connected with it.
MARRIAGE.OF.THE.LAMB_ PHOENIX.AZ SUNDAY_ E E-43 If a woman isn't connected with the man in trueness, then it isn't her husband. It's just a man she's taken a vow to live with, and she took a wrong vow. She pledged to love him, and she said she loved him; and she didn't do it. All the time the man is deceived. But there's one thing sure, friends; we're not going to deceive Christ. He knows His own.
MARRIAGE.OF.THE.LAMB_ PHOENIX.AZ SUNDAY_ E E-44 But, you see, first, decision's made, next engagement, then promise, and then the ceremony. And that's when the bride--bride takes the bridegroom's name. She is no more then of her own name; she takes the bridegroom's name. And then when the church has the ceremony, makes their promises, then she takes the Bridegroom's Name. Then she's no longer a church of the world; she's the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Not... I don't mean that by Name; I mean that by birth, by nature, by the power of God. By the revealed truth of God in the heart she becomes a Christian church, the great, universal apostolic Christian church.
MARRIAGE.OF.THE.LAMB_ PHOENIX.AZ SUNDAY_ E She becomes a part of Christ. When she does that, she... Christ injects into her His own Spirit, His own life. And the Bible said to Adam and Eve there, "You're no longer twain, but one." And when the woman, church, is married to Christ, they're no longer two. They are one: Christ in you. Amen. That's it. His life has been brought into you. Then you become the bride.
REVELATION 3:7 7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 And men of that age as even today were making the same mistake. As the Jews took refuge in the synagogue form of worship, so in the Philadelphian Age they were taking refuge in the church. It is not joining a church that counts. The life is not in the church. The life is in Christ. "This is the record that God hath given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son hath not life." Man is made holy by the Spirit. It is the Spirit of Holiness that raised Jesus from the dead that in-dwells us and makes us holy with His holiness.
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 There He stands, the HOLY ONE. And we will stand with Him clothed in His righteousness, holy with His holiness. Oh, I am so glad that my holiness is not of myself. I am glad that I am in Christ, with all His wonderful attributes of righteousness imputed, yea imparted unto me. Blessed be God forever!
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 Now works are fine, but they don't save you. They don't make you perfect. It is Christ or perish. And it is not even Christ AND works. It is Christ alone. This age began the years of Arminianism that does not believe in Christ as the REALITY. It does not sing of "Nothing but the Blood," for it sings of "Nothing but the blood AND my own conduct". Now I believe in good conduct. If you are saved you will do righteously. We have already gone over that.
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 But let me tell you now, salvation is NOT Jesus PLUS. It is Jesus ALONE. SALVATION IS OF THE LORD. From start to finish it is all GOD. Let His life be in me. Let it be His blood that cleanses me. Let it be His Spirit that fills me. Let it be His Word in my heart and mouth. Let it be His stripes that heal me. Let it be Jesus, and Jesus Alone. Not by works of righteousness which I have done. No sir. Christ is my life. Amen.
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 I feel I could just go on and on about these truths, but I will give you one more thought. It is about that wonderful hymn that A. B. Simpson wrote. "Once it was the blessing, Now it is the Lord. Once it was the feeling, Now it is His Word. Once His Gift I wanted, Now the Giver own. Once I sought for healing, Now Himself Alone. All in All forever, Jesus will I sing. Everything in Jesus, And Jesus everything."
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 There isn't anything in this life, satisfying as it may be, as good and as fine as it may be, but you will find the sum total of all perfection in Christ. Everything fades into insignificance beside Him.
Key of David Jesus the reality of what David foreshadowed He alone can use it On His shoulder? Isaiah: government Bride places veil on shoulder of groom
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 When the bride has been committed to the groom she takes off her veil and places it over the groom's shoulders, signifying that not only is she under his dominion--that she has transferred her rights to him--that he is the head-- but also that he bears the responsibility and the care and that HE AND HE ALONE--NO ONE ELSE--NO OTHER MAN--NO OTHER POWER--HAS ANY RIGHT AND RESPONSIBILITY. And that, beloved, is the KEY of David.
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 God being Sovereign, He foreknew by Divine decree exactly who would be in His bride. He chose her. She did not choose Him. He called her. She did not come on her own. He died for her. He washed her in His own blood. He paid the price for her. She belongs to Him and to Him alone. She is wholly committed to Him and He accepts the obligation. He is her head, for Christ is the head of His church. As Sarah called Abraham, Lord, even so the bride is happy that He is her Lord. He speaks and she obeys for that is her delight.
292-1 PHILADELPHIAN.CHURCH.AGE - CHURCH.AGE.BOOK CPT.8 In Him is perfect fulfillment. Though once we esteemed Him not, now we love Him with joy unspeakable and full of glory. In the midst of the church He stands, and we will sing His praise, for He the Mighty Conqueror is head over the church which is His bride. He bought that bride. He owns her. She is His and His alone and He cares for her. He is our king and we are His kingdom, His eternal possession.
STRAIT.IS.THE.GATE_ JEFF.IN CH SUNDAY_ M 175 We pray, Lord, that there'll not be a person leave here but what will be filled with Your Spirit. Maybe there won't be one emotion from the outside when it happens. But, Lord, go on the inside, pull off the shell, and show us what we are, Lord. Grant it. And then fill us with Your Spirit, with a heart that's true and pure. And in this time of persecutions and hard trials, You'll grow sweeter and dearer to us as we walk along, waiting for that day. While tears run down our cheeks, for the sins of the city, may the Holy Spirit look down and say, "There's one that I can mark; he's Mine; she's Mine." Grant it, Lord. May it be found among us today.
