6 GEOGRAPHY Italy borders with Austria, France, Slovenia, and Switzerland. It’s home to the microstates San Marino and Vatican City, it has two large islands and a lot of smaller ones. Over 75% of Italy is mountainous or hilly.

8 MAJOR CITIES After Rome, Milan is the second-largest city in Italy. It is home to Italian fashion and finance. Florence is considered by many the home of Italian art. Venice, a unique city, sited on a group of small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges
