1 New AHCCCS Renewal Process

2 New Process Process starts 45 days prior to renewal due date. The member should take no action until notified. HEAplus pulls current data from the state and federal hubs (wage information, SSA data, unemployment, ASRS) HEAplus compares current data to previous information and determines eligibility. Reaching across Arizona to provide comprehensive quality health care for those in need

3 New Process (continued)
If able to determine the individual remains eligible, HEAplus processes the renewal and sends a letter and pre-populated renewal form with the information that was used to determine ongoing eligibility. The member should not respond unless the information used is not correct. Their eligibility will automatically continue. This is a huge change in the way we process renewals. 4 New Process (continued)
If unable to determine the individual remains eligible, HEAplus sends a letter and pre-populated renewal form. The member must respond within 30 days. If no response, eligibility is discontinued. If the person responds within 90 days of the discontinuance date, the individual does not need to reapply. We will use the information from the renewal response to determine eligibility. 5 Transition to the New Process
We are in the process of transitioning to this new process. Until this transition is complete, some renewals will be processed using the current method. Reaching across Arizona to provide comprehensive quality health care for those in need

6 Transition to the New Process
The first automated renewals were processed in September for SSI MAO and Medicare Savings Program cases with a 10/31/14 due date and will continue each month thereafter. A little over 50% of the renewals were processed automatically with no action needed by the member unless the information used was incorrect. We are currently processing approximately 60,000 renewals on other cases in HEAplus with renewal due dates of 12/31/14 or earlier. A little less than 50% of the renewals were processed automatically with no action needed by the member unless the information used was incorrect. We will be transferring renewals due January 31st from the Glendale DES office to HEAplus for processing. If this works well, we will process all renewals in HEAplus beginning in January for renewals due February 28th.
