3 IEA HIA ExCo 06/08 Hauback Annex goals and targets A.Develop a reversible or regenerative hydrogen storage medium fulfilling international targets for hydrogen storage. B.Develop the fundamental and engineering understanding of hydrogen storage by various hydrogen storage media that have the capability of meeting Target A. C.Develop hydrogen storage materials and systems for use in stationary applications.

5 IEA HIA ExCo 06/08 Hauback Participation (May 2008) 19 countries. 55 Official Experts (still missing some NPLs). 52 organizations (Universities, National Laboratories and Companies). 50 projects. Effort: about 64 Py/y. All Experts agreed to participate according to the HIA rules and guidelines of this specific task (subject to available local funding and executed National Participation Letters by the respective ExCo members).

14 IEA HIA ExCo 06/08 Hauback Interaction with IPHE Invitations were sent to Russia, India, China and Brazil from Mary-Rose de Valladares. Positive reply from Russia No replies from India, China and Brazil One Expert from Russia and Brazil present at the Sacacomie Task 22 meeting, both giving presentations. The Expert from Brazil informed about the procedure for participation. Will make contacts in Brazil for further progress.

17 IEA HIA ExCo 06/08 Hauback Plans coming 6 months Organize the next Task 22 meeting in Rome October Continue action for projects on Rechargeable Organic Liquids. Contribute to further interaction with IPHE. (Task 22 meeting in April 2009 in Korea.)

18 IEA HIA ExCo 06/08 Hauback Requested of this ExCo Approval of the semi-annual report. Collect the reminding National Participation Letters. Continue process to include IPHE-experts in Task 22.
