2 BELL WORK TODAY’S TOPIC: #14 DECLARATION VOCABULARY RAP: Answer the following question- Would there ever be a reason to break away and speak out against your government? If so, what would it be?

3 WOW: Use the dictionary to write the vocabulary definitions for the following words Revolution Govern Self-evident Endow Unalienable Liberty Pursuit Rights Secure Consent Derive Institute

4 WIO  Draw a picture that illustrates each vocabulary word

5 Vocabulary Words 1.Revolution- the overthrowing of a government 1.Governed- The act or process of governing; controlling public policy 1.Self-evident - Requiring no proof or explanation. 1.Endowed- Given 1.Unalienable rights- rights that are so basic that they can’t be taken away 1.Liberty- Freedom

That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their powers from the consent of the governed.”
