Redeem: “To buy back, ransom, rescue, or deliver.”
From Egyptian bondage (Exodus 6:6) The Lord worked BIG things with the littlest of people! (Deuteronomy 7:7-8) The Lord made Israel His own, and made a name for Himself through them! (2 Samuel 7:22-23)
Like Israel, we must rely on God to redeem us! (Psalm 130:6-8; Titus 2:13-14) The price of our redemption is the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:13-14; Hebrews 9:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19) We belong to the One who paid the price for us. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
We do not have the funds to redeem our souls from death (Psalm 49:6-9) God is able to redeem us (Psalm 49:15) Redemption requires complete trust in the Redeemer! (Job 19:25-27; Psalm 31:5; Luke 23:46)
