What can we do to move our church toward Kingdom Living and Serving?

1. What we must DO….

A. Pray ….

…for God’s light to shine in all of the dark places in us and in our church so we can see the truth of where we really are.

…for forgiveness for whatever He shows us are the problems.

…against the powers of darkness that have been entrenched in our life and church.

Surrender once more to the Lordship of the King, and ask Him to reign as Lord over us and our church.

B. Use your deacons’ meetings to evaluate where your church is and to make plans to help them move more toward where they should be.

C. Share these truths however and whenever you can, practicing them first in your own life.

2. What we must KNOW

A. There is no middle Kingdom. There are only 2 Kingdoms: Light and Darkness.

B. There are Kingdom rules and characteristics:

1.The King is in charge, not us. 2.We need to learn what He requires and what He wants us to be doing.

(a) He wants to have fellowship with us (b)He expects us to live a life of holiness and to love one another

(c) He expects us to go out and enlist other members into the Kingdom and to teach each other about Kingdom duties and obedience.

(d) He expects us to deal with the church’s external enemies as well as disobedient members of the body.

(e) The Kingdom is a Monarchy not an anarchy. (f) We need to realize that our church is only part of the Kingdom of God, not all of it.

(g) We must never compete with other churches or Kingdom groups. (h) There are blessings but also responsibilities in being a Kingdom church. We must not get out of balance.

(i) Our focus should be on what we can do for the Kingdom, not what it does for us.

“Where the King is recognized, honored, praised and served by those who love Him and desire to do His will, His kingdom advances.” -Christopherson

“Where the King is central, where His worship is the most important activity, and His mission our primary goal, we will see the Kingdom gain ground.” -Christopherson
