Presentation on theme: "COMPARING ANCIENT ROME TO BARRHAVEN. PROBLEMS: -The term ‘compare’- similarities or differences? -What platform to use… Visual aids and explanations -Maps…"— Presentation transcript:
FIRST I COMPARED IMPORTANCE In relation to Rome, Ostia was a very important harbour and trading port for Rome. This was a quick and easy place to bring trade goods to, and bring in mainland to Rome. Veii was an old Etruscan city which was large beautiful and important, it was much of a status city and considered as a possibility to be the new Rome when Rome was taken in a battle. It contributed largely to the production of terracotta statues. Barrhaven has no importance to Ottawa, it is merely a suburb with housing for people to live. There is some farming but not enough to ‘feed the masses’, even before the more major development the farming wasn’t too substantial.
I ALSO LOOKED AT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE CITY AND SUBBURBS Ostia is approximatly 30 km away from Rome Veii is approximately 16 km away from Rome Barrhaven is approximately 26 km away from Ottawa
