My name is Edit Megyeri. I am 15, I come from Békéscsaba, from Hungary.
Békéscsaba is situated in the South-Eastern part of Hungary. I live in the suburb, Gerla which is famous for the Wenckheim-family.

The famous painter, Mihály Munkácsy lived and worked in Békéscsaba for a long time.
Next to Békéscsaba, there is a town, Gyula, which is famous for its spa and a historical castle made of bricks.

Both cities mentioned before are situated in the Hungarian Great Plain. Not far away from our cities you can find Szeged, on the bank of the River Tisza.
Albert Szent-györgyi worked for a long time at the University of Szeged. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1937 for his discovering vitamin C.
