M-4: from Everywhere to Everywhere Mission = Reflecting God’s Glory; being ‘light’ to the Gentiles, bringing salvation to the ends of the earth from / to everywhere! Isa.49:6; Acts 13:46-47 The disciples went out and preached from / to everywhere (= Missions) and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word with signs and wonders! Mark 16:20

God’s Glory in fulfilling the Great Commission We were created and recreated for… God’s Glory! NB: Context of Great Commission = Worship of Christ (Matt.28:17-20) One verb = Discipling the nations, 3 participles: how? 1. Evangelize: share the good news 2. Baptize: identify with, induct into faith community 3. Stabilize: teach followers to obey Jesus 4. Realize: Emmanuel - God is with us, not just me!

M-4: from Everywhere to Everywhere Christ in You = the Hope of Glory! - Col.1:27 In reflecting the Lord’s Glory, we are being transformed into His likeness, with ever increasing glory - 2Cor.3:18

Commitment to Christian Mission From here, and everywhere… to everywhere! Luke 5: Simon Peter’s Missionary ‘Call’ Increasing Commitment for a miraculous Catch

Four (4) Levels of Mission 1. Passive Mission: listening to Jesus’ words 2. Proxy Mission: lending Jesus your boat 3. Participatory Mission: launching out with Jesus 4. Partnership in Mission: learning to trust the other

4. Partnership in Mission: learning to partner with Jesus and ‘Johns’! - Attempting and Expecting ‘great things’ from God - Giving: ears, boats, skills, whole life to the ‘Lord’! - Need for other ‘partners’ to bring in Jesus’ catch - Our unity is our essential witness ‘by this’ they know

4. Partnership in Mission: - Heirs together of the gracious gift of Life (1P.3:7) - Hearts knit together with Christ’s love (Col.2:2) - Heels striving together for faith of Gospel (Phl.1:27) The Key = Together, Learning to Trust (Mark 6:1-6)

Get the Big Picture!

The Balkan churches: What does launching out look like? 1.Moving.. from Maintenance to Missional mode 2.from the Fringes to become the Fulcrum 3.from Complaining, Criticizing to Cooperation 4.from Expecting to Attempting ‘new, great things’

Our ‘new’ World: doing mission out-of-context 1. Korea: 100yrs ago ‘Impenetrable’; now the largest churches that worldwide are missionally aggressive 2. Ethiopia: after 20 yrs Marxist rule; new freedom 3. Albania: ‘hardest nation’ to go, wide-open senders!

Stories of ‘new things’ springing up among us in the Balkans…?! 1. China: bamboo curtains; largest X’ian population 2. South America: ‘the neglected continent’, now 2 nd reformation in missions (David Ruez) 3. Indonesia: world’s largest Muslim state >20% Xian 4. Africa: ‘Dark continent’; now > Xians than the West 5. India: ‘pagans’ Carey came to reach now largest mission internal-external sending nations 6. The Balkans:…?

My Commitment to Missions… God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask or imagine, according to… The power that is at work within us… To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Eph. 3:
