5 ⁞Considering the Action Plan… Take into account school culture (how do teachers normally react to change/projects requiring change?) Know your staff reaction to change Who are the teachers who embrace change? Who does not enjoy change? Involve everyone in the planning - is this possible? Whole staff ownership of the plan - how to do this whilst keeping the integrity of the plan? What strategies will work for you and your staff, what strategies have worked for previous projects? Involve reluctant teachers in the planning. Pinpoint those who are resistant and find out why. Address the why Cultural shift How will you present the plan to the rest of the staff? Action Plan: Considering, Formulating, Actioning... ⁞Formulating the Action Plan… Life Coordinators - use Life, become completely confident in Life before training your teachers in Life, use Life with your students - it is only when you get your students into Life that you fully understand the workings of Life Chunk teacher training - train those teachers first you know will be enthusiastic, select your first round of teacher participants wisely, they will let everyone know how well it is going Outline your Life sessions - one tool, one session Use one tool in Life at a time e.g. Postie resource and show teachers how to use this as a question lesson starter; Content Cell is a great way to familiarise yourself with Life Teachers training teachers - early adopters of Life ⁞Actioning the Plan… Incremental change - celebrate milestones e.g. staff meeting 5 minute Life sessions to celebrate success, anecdotal evidence of success - monitor casual staff discussions. School culture of learning = learning community; collaboration is key; integrating Life within existing teaching/learning units Staff Meeting - designated 5 minute Life sessions at each staff meeting. A teacher showcases their Life for 5 minutes - no more, no comments from other teachers, completely non-threatening and voluntary! Reluctant volunteers - why are they reluctant?
