Guide us on the Right Path. The Path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Blessings; Not of those who have incurred Thy displeasure nor of those who have gone astray. [1:6-7]
And whoso obeys Allah and His Messenger of His shall be among those on whom Allah has bestowed His blessings, namely, the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. And excellent companions are these. [4:70]
Woman as a Mother “Paradise lies under the feet of mothers” “If heaven can be attained by subsequent generations, it can only be attained through mothers who themselves have become a heavenly sign and heaven has become manifest in their appearance…” “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother” (Abraham Lincoln) “That best academy, a mother's knee” (James Russell Lowell)
Woman as a Wife “I swear by the Being who holds the life of Muhammad in His hands that no woman shall be deemed to have done her duty by her God unless she had done her duty to her husband” (Ibn Majah). “No man succeeds without a good woman behind him. Wife or mother, if it is both, he is twice blessed indeed” (Harold Macmillan)
Woman as a Daughter “A man who has three daughters and brings them up and educates them to the best of his capacity shall be entitled to paradise” (Hadith) A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful moments of the present, and the hope and promise of the future. (Author Unknown)
Woman as a Sister Even if we do not have a sister, every woman plays the role of a sister – We are all sisters in the Jamaat – We are sisters in our nation, country, etc.
This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous [2:3] يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ اتَّقُواْ اللّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلاَ تَمُوتُنَّ إِلاَّ وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared; and let not death overtake you except when you are in a state of submission [3:103]
“…And fear Allah and know Allah is with those who fear Him.” Ch2:v195
Taqwa cont. How can we attain Taqwa? Seek Allah’s help & PRAY to Him: ‘O Lord! Show us your beauty or the manifestations of it. Make us helpless. We should see you and fall madly in love; and become oblivious to the world, and all that is in it. And we should love you and then be unable to love anyone else in comparison to you.’ [Daughters of Eve pg 21]
Taqwa cont. Why is it crucial to inculcate love of Allah within our hearts & how can we attain it & reflect it through our daily lives?
Those who remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and ponder over the creation of the heavens and the earth; and say, 'Our Lord, thou hast not created this universe in vain. Holy art Thou; save us then from the punishment of the Fire;' [3:192] أَقِمِ الصَّلاَةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَى غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ إِنَّ قُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُوداً Observe Prayer from the declining and paling of the sun till the darkness of the night, and recite the Qur'an at dawn. Verily, the recitation of the Qur'an at dawn is specially acceptable to Allah [17:79]
Namaz cont. “Recite that which has been revealed to thee of the Book, and observe Prayer. Surely, Prayer restrains one from indecency and manifest evil; and remembrance of Allah, indeed, is the greatest virtue. And Allah knows what you do.” Ch29:v46
Namaz/ Salat cont. Why observance of Namaz is compulsory? Why are we lazy in observing Namaz? How can we improve ourselves?
And say to the believing women that they restrain their looks and guard their private parts, and that they display not their beauty or their embellishment except that which is apparent thereof, and that they draw their head-coverings over their bosoms, and that they display not their beauty or their embellishment [24:32]
Purdah Why do we think that Purdah is a hindrance in our everyday lives? How can we overcome our hidden fears?
And whatever of wealth you spend, the benefit of it will be for yourselves, for, you spend not but to seek the favour of Allah. And whatever of wealth you spend, it shall be paid back to you in full and you shall not be wronged [2:273] لَن تَنَالُواْ الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَمَا تُنفِقُواْ مِن شَيْءٍ فَإِنَّ اللّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ You cannot attain to righteousness unless you spend out of that which you love; and whatever you spend, Allah surely knows it well [3:93] الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سِرّاً وَعَلاَنِيَةً فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ Those who spend their wealth by night and day, secretly and openly, have their reward with their Lord; on them shall come no fear, nor shall they grieve [2:275]
Wassiyat What stops us from doing Wassiyat? Are we afraid of the higher expectations that are associated with being a Moosi? If so, how can we overcome those?
Raising Children: Mother as a Role Model And those who say, 'Our Lord, grant us of our wives and children the delight of our eyes, and make us a model for the righteous‘ [25:75] وَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلاَدُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ وَأَنَّ اللّهَ عِندَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that it is Allah with Whom is a great reward [8:29]
Raising Children Why are mothers more responsible for the upbringing of their children? What are the challenges faced by a mother of today’s world?
Mother as Role Model “If Ahmadi women do not fulfill their responsibilities, then they will be deprived of the opportunity to fulfill an important demand of the time. They will fail to bring together the entire human race as ‘one nation’”. As a role model, we must fulfill our Lajna Pledge
The Holy Quran States: “Nay, but whoso fulfills his pledge and fears Allah – verily, Allah loves those who fear Him.”
“One who does not honor a pledge has no faith” and “one who breaks a promise is called a hypocrite.” Hazrat Khalifatul Masih I ra said “Ba'ait, that is the pledge of initiation into Ahmadiyyat, is in reality total submission to the obedience of the Khalifa and never to ignore even the slightest of his commands.” (Al- Furqan, June 1967)
I affirm That I Shall Always Be Ready to Sacrifice – My Life, – Property, – Time, – And Children For The Cause Of Faith And The Community. I Shall Adhere To Truth And Shall Always Be Prepared To Make Every Sacrifice For The Perpetuation Of The Ahmadiyya Khilafat. InshAllah.
In addition to this we also have the responsibility to fulfill all the conditions of Ba’ait as we have pledged to Khilafat through the Jamaat-e- Ahmadiyya.
