Landforms Everglades has many different landforms The Saw palmetto palm tree that covers most of the Everglades has sharp thorns that can cut you if you’re not careful. Some landforms in the Everglades are swamps, marshes, rocklands, and wet lands. The Pine Forest is the highest place in the Everglades.
Culture People lived there, explored, and visit the Everglades. The Tequesta and Calusa were the first Indians to come to the Everglades. The Spanish explorers came next looking for gold. People now visit the Everglades and nobody lives there.
WATERWAYS Everglades has sawgrass marshes, bays, and rivers. Water leaving lake Okeeroobe in the wet season forms the Everglades. Sawgrass marshes are possible to walk across even in the wet season. Florida Bay makes up 1/3 of the Everglades.
Rocks and Minerals The Everglades has lots of limestone. The Pinelands have a hard rock ground made limestone. Limestone is at the bottom of the Everglades. The limestone is made up of shells, mud, and sand that hardened over time.
