Question and Answer Overview
There are many changes that take place in the Autumn season. Each year we watch leaves change color, and animals getting ready for winter. We put away our summer shorts and flip flops for jackets, long pants and boots as the weather turns colder and rainier. Wind blows the leaves from the trees and farmers harvest pumpkins, apples, and corn in preparation for winter.
The Seasons Effect the Earth and the Moon Our year is divided into 4 seasons, they are Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn. These seasons mark the changes in weather as the earth moves around the sun. The farther it is from the sun, the cooler the weather.
Autumn Changes In the Sky The Autumn season usually begins around September 23 rd. The full moon that is closest to this date is called the Harvest Moon. That’s the time when the moon is closest to the earth so it looks bigger.
