The Cathedral: Surrounded by a cloudy abyss Floating amidst nothingness There is no entry, there is no escape The Patrons: Know not how they arrived Know not how to leave Have no desire to leave Myself: Don ’ t know how I got here Don ’ t know how I know this Very, very confused
A girl runs past in a panic. Her frantic demeanor contrasts with the empty, lifeless discussion of the other patrons; she is real. She reaches an exterior balcony and leaps into the abyss below. I berate the parishioners. A priest holding a knife soaked in blood expresses his concern to another patron for a young girl’s safety, worrying that a fall from the cathedral could kill her. His warm words contradict his actions. I enter the sanctuary, vast and grandiose. It is filled with voices of accusation, none of which agree on the crime committed. On the altar, the body of a girl, executed, with blade in her red, left eye.
Knowing not where or how or in which order these transpired, I, too, find myself at the edge of forever, and with only brief hesitation, I le ap into the ABYSS below wait ing
