2 Types of Bullying seen at Big Sky  Threats  Spreading rumors  Attacking physically or verbally  Excluding someone from a group on purpose

3 What steps are taken?  Victim is interviewed to find out what has taken place  Suspect(s) are interviewed and then it is determined to give a ticket or work it out  Parents are notified

4 Consequences? Montana is one of two states that does not have a specific bullying law.  Harassment  Disorderly conduct  Assault

5 Privacy in communication law? Communicates with aperson by electronic comunication  Person knowingly or purposely with the purpose to terrify, intimidate, threaten, harass, annoy or offend

6 What about erasing messages?  They never disappear  A copy is always available

7 What can a bystander do?  Step in  Seek out an adult  Others?

8 On average how many complaints are handled each year?  Varies from year to year  Statistically females are the ones that are involved in bullying the majority of the time

9 What happens if a student is bullied off campus?  The school is responsible for you until you enter your home
