Chapter 3 – Basic Kinetic Concepts Inertia – resistance to acceleration (reluctance of a body to change its state of motion) Inertia – resistance to acceleration (reluctance of a body to change its state of motion) Has no units Mass – the quantity of matter (i.e. the amount of stuff).
