5 tonight n Visual C++ demo u handout, demo notes, helpful book chapter u all notes are on the webpage, 2 book chapter is on images reserve - 1 suited to each project n video on reserve (previously seen) u thinking aloud method u make sure you read the pages by Nielsen n try it out u trip to the I.S. Lab u QOTD tonight - print a screen dump of whatever you have before you leave tonight

6 tonight: n submit your project groups’ names tonight u groups of 3 - submit the names n Begin project F small software development project and ‘thinking aloud evaluation F includes software developmentsoftware development software improvementsoftware improvement presentationpresentation brief reportbrief report n After class/before testing subjects u read ‘Usability testing’ - thinking aloud method - Jakob Nielsen - 6 pages (library images reserve) 30

7 small software development project and ‘thinking aloud evaluation n As a group member you will participate in u software development (20pts) u ‘thinking aloud’ evaluation, analysis u using minimum of 2 subjects (15 minutes) u software modification/improvement (20pts) u presentation of before/after interface F 4-5 minutes (20pts)…during week 13. u report (25 points)…due during week 14 F 1 page summary, 1 page figures screen captures n As a subject u you will be expected to participate in one (15pts) software evaluation of another project group (not your own) - sign up and schedule during class today 31
