2 A Suffix is a word part that comes after a base word or root that changes its meaning

3 The suffix -ous means “full of” Examples: glorious full of glory spacious full of space nervous full of nerves

4 Doug feared that turning sideways might be more dangerous than walking straight. Example: Circle the suffix, and underline the base word. The suffix – ous means “full of” Therefore, dangerous means “full of danger”

5 Salir The suffix –ward means “ in a certain direction” Example: There was nothing separating him from the edge of the cliff and a plunge downward. down is the base word Ward is the suffix, and it means “in a certain direction” Therefore downward means “moving down”
