Before clocks were made, time was told by the way the sun moved. The word clock was first used in the 14 th century, it’s from the Latin word “clocca” which means bell. Introduction
In the early 1750’s, Benjamin Banneker invented the first clock. He got the idea of making the clock from studying a pocket watch he got from a wealthy associate. After studying the watch, he made a fully functioned clock made out of wooden pieces.
Peter Henlein made the time piece, better known as a wrist watch in 1504. But in 1878, Sir Sanford Fleming made it more accurate. Christian Huygens made the clock more accurate when he invented the pendulum clock, better known as the “Grandfather Clock”, in 1656. The clock that’s used in our every day life is called the quartz clock, It was invented in 1927 by Warren Marrison Changes of clocks over the years
