30 WATER ROCKET Basic Parts of a Water Rocket Principle of Rocket Flight
Construction of a Water Rocket (video)

31 BASIC PARTS OF A WATER ROCKET
Nose cone Contains Ballast and Cushioning Ballast provides aerodynamic stability during flight Cushioning preserves shape of rocket on impact Body Holds water and compressed air Skirt Used for attaching fins to body Fins Ensure accurate flight in desired direction Nozzle Releases compressed air and water from body at high velocity

32 PRINCIPLE OF ROCKET FLIGHT
Newton’s famous Third Law of Motion: FOR EVERY ACTION, THERE IS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION In Water Rockets: Action: Release of compressed air and water from body of rocket through nozzle Reaction: Rocket propelled forward at high velocity due to thrust thus produced
