The Mississippi river is the largest river in America. It starts up in the mountains and flows through gorges and waterfalls and past muddy swamps and many houses. The Mississippi river has a length of 2,320 miles. The Mississippi drains most of the area between the Rocky Mountains except the areas drained by Hudson Bay. The river starts in Minnesota and then empties into the Gulf of Mexico. click
