1. How to diagram a pulley system!

2. Anchor point The anchor point should be a solid black box fixed to a surface.

3. Dot Draw a large dot to show where the end of the rope is connected.

4. Rope Use a nice black line to represent the ropes.

5. Pulley Use a larger circle with a dot in the middle to represent the pulley. You can use a sticker to represent your pulleys

6. Load Use the same symbol we used for load with levers. Draw a box with an “L” in it. L

7. Effort Use the same symbol we used for effort with levers. Draw a circle with an “E” in it. L E

8. Direction Use a line with an arrow to show the direction of the effort and where the rope goes. L E
