1 Word-of-Mouth for CiviCRM Know our users – Have accurate general quantities for marketing – Build a community that goes beyond the ‘actives’ – Be able to pinpoint ‘stars’ & engage directly Build the CiviCRM brand – Not be the ‘Best kept secret anymore’ – Increase consideration of CiviCRM for new projects – Visibility with key ‘sources’: bloggers, evaluators, purchasing, etc. Engage the user community – Have x times more leverage than on our own – Leverage user’s customers, social networks, etc. – Provide visibility to encourage more participation

2 Know our users Metrics – How many downloads / active installs? (OK) – Where? Which NP sector? How many users? – Ways to get in touch with the organization Collection – Pingback, sourceforge.net, c.o & forum, jira – Civicrm.org registration – Embedded registration (DG: more links during the install/upgrade/org info page) Presentation – Pingback statistics (Coleman + Michael [NG]) – Message on home page (how to do without redesign? [NG]), – Link to searchable worldwide map (kasia @ freeform.ca) – DB for marketing/outreach (organization and contact) Part of the registration form that is already existing. Downloads will move from sf.net to c.o. https://civicrm.org/civicrm/profile/creat e?reset=1&gid=15 Link is presented during the install process, and after the upgrade. Link on the dashboard.

6 Engage the user community Metrics – CiviCRM indirect exposure (retweets, likes, press releases / external blog posts, etc.) Actions – Recent #civicrm tweets on c.o home page (Dave M) No owner on the Facebook page now. – Pre-made messages on key actions Click here to Tweet/FB ‘I just downloaded #civicrm today’ (Kurund) tarball download / karma on forum / ticket closed / documentation updated complete install / public page created (self-promotion) / etc. – Reward action takers with more visibility Immediate visibility on c.o through above thank you email, featured in newsletter or other comm.
