1 European Training Strategy for the Youth in Action programme Youth worker - competence development

2 Aim describing youth worker competences in a standardised way based on competence-profiles should lead 1. to better recognition of the contributions of youth work to society and 2.lead to appropriate capacity-building strategies The focus should be on competences needed to work in transnational projects and to support young people’s mobility in these projects – not on a general competence profile. 3 Questions to be answered Via existing Training strategy Does your organisation/institution/company have a training strategy for youth worker/youth leader? If yes, does this training strategy contain elements (modules, studies, seminars, descriptions...) which are related to international/transnational youth work? If yes, what are crucial aspects – like competence/skills descriptions, aims, core descriptions etc.? International part of competence profile for youth worker 3

4 Our interest is to develop the areas of a competence profile for youth worker in international/transnational youth work with the focus on: o Integrating international mobility aspects in different areas of youth work – comptences needed to work in int. youth work o Supporting young people‘s mobility interests and eyperiences Are these aspects somehow tackled within your training strategy for youth worker? If yes, how.... If no, are you planning something related? Focus: How are youth workers/leaders trained with regard to support international mobilty of young people, being able to work in international teams and being able to integrate international mobility aspects in their work? Focus on the development of a the international part of a competence profiles of youth worker/leader? Who can facilitate this process on country level with us? NAs?
