3 THE VOCAL ORGANS The principal organs which take part in the production of speech sound are: 1.Lungs 2.Mouth 3.Throat

4 They provide the air necessary. They have the function of inhale and exhale. Inhalation: the chest expands the diaphragm upwards. Exhalation: the chest contracts and the diaphragm

5 The mouth has the following organs which we use to articulate the sounds:lips, tongue, teeth, alveolar ridge, hard palate, etc. The throat has the following organs: The pharynx, larynx (contains the vocal cords) They define if the sound is voiced or voiceles mb081/page_06.htm
