Substrate is a custom engineered PC/ABS blend thermoplastic polymer. Overmold is a thermoplastic elastomer alloy designed especially for bonding to the substrate PC/ABS polymer. Molded concurrently in a two shot revolving platen overmolding process for optimum quality and part integrity. Cable – Strain Relief, Sealing & Performance Custom designed, machined high strength brass ferrules, crimped to the cable. 50K cycle endurance rating. Integrally molded o-ring seal interfaces with high quality silicon rubber o-ring seals. Radio Connector (RC) Design All RC’s are either custom tooled by SML or sourced from quality OEM RC suppliers. Most SML tooled RC’s are fastened together using seal screws - No snap fits. All SML tooled RC’s include miniature connectors - No soldered wires. Most SML tooled RC’s include multiple molded silicon components for redundant environmental sealing. Custom three layer PSA includes silicon and acrylic adhesive components. All seal surfaces 100% polished.
Radio Connector (RC) PCB All RC PCB’s are either custom tooled by SML or sourced from quality OEM RC suppliers. All SML tooled PCB’s are 100% surface mount technology (SMT). ProGain TM System Allows the user to custom attenuate the speaker mic Tx audio microphone gain. Easy to access, sealed adjustable gain potentiometer. Maintains system environmental seal/immersion rating. Adjust microphone gain from maximum to minimum transmit power – Allowing close quarter communications by eliminating feedback. Simply remove the belt clip via four T6 Torx fasteners - Adjust mic gain with a small screw driver. Available on both Sword and Juno.
AGC - Automatic Gain Control Unique to SML Mounts to main speaker mic PCB. Custom tunable via software inputs. Automatically adjusts the microphone sensitivity and provides a consistent level of receive audio Useful If the user is whispering, shouting, or if background noise such as wind or industrial noise is present. Increases performance and addresses interface problems typical with accessories such as headsets and SCBA communication systems. Available on Sword.
