The GeoBubble™ is a new technology of bubble designed specifically for the swimming pool environment. For many years the standard packaging bubble design has been commonly used in the market. However, this design was not created to be a product with any considerable longevity, in fact its design function is the complete opposite. The creationof a bubble design which is more resistant to the environmental stress placed on the cover material was the goal of the GeoBubble™ design.
Bubbledesign Bellow is a example of vacuum forming the method used to make the bubble shape. As shown the material thins as it is drawn into the mould. The thinnest point will be the last place to come into contact with the mould This Produces weak points in areas of high residual stress (sharp corners) and which undergo chemical attack which will result in these areas degrading faster.
Residual stress:are stresses that remain in a moulded plastic material after the original cause of the stresses (the forming has been removed. and extrusion process) Rounded shape minimises stressesSharpe angles create areas frozen in stress This is why most Plastic products are rounded and shape corners avoided when ever possible Stress crack will appear Failure point will occur

LaminatedWeaves Plastipack provide a laminated woven material this consists of a 200μm, UV stabilised, HDPE flat woven mesh sandwiched between two thin films of LDPE. This woven material is heat bonded to the top surface of the bubble material on our production line creating a permanent bond between the woven sheet and the bubble material. Our blue pigmented woven material called Polyweave comes in 2m and 2.5m widths. We also supply a clear woven for application where heat gain is required called Solarweave available in 2m. The woven material provides tensile strength making a more durable material. Besides this benefit the only difference is in the materials weight a standard 400μm material ways 368gm² with the weave laminated to the material this will increase to 540gm². When welding the woven material using a hot wedge welder Plastipack recommend through there own experience running the welder at 490°C at a line speed of 90 (9 on new models Phaffs) using a gripping roller for the best possible weld.

Reflective cover sheet Storing the cover on a reel can cause the material to deform to the shape of the reel when left in direct sunlight. To solve this issue Plastipack developed the reflective cover to allow ease of storage when not in use. The material deforms as the insulating properties of the cover causes heat to builds between the layers which can reach harmful level.
