November Journals Instead of having a traditional “journal” time, my students do writing as part of our Daily 5 time. Currently, I have stamps and sentence dominoes that the kids can do during writing time and they can also write about things that they are thinking about. (I get a lot of “I love my mom.”) I have even had some students make circle maps in their Daily 5 spirals! These journal starters will be laminated, cut apart and added to our writing area for students to choose from during writing time. They will take the journal starter to their spot and copy it into their Daily 5 spiral, complete and illustrate. Clipart from DJ Inkers Funtastic Fall
