3 HIGH EXPLOSIVE ANTITANK (HEAT) AMUNITION HEAT (HIGH EXPLOSIVE ANTITANK) IS THE BIGGEST THREAT FOR ARMOURED VEHICLES SUCH AS MBT´S AND TRANSPORT. DANGEROUS TOO FOR FORTIFIED BUILDING AND COPTERS. SINCE WWII TO NOWADAYS THE USE OF HEAT WARHEAD WAS INCREASING. THE SYSTEM SIMPLICITY ALLOWS USE IT IN MANY TYPES OF GUNS, LAUNCHED BY PERSONS, MBT OR HELICOPTERS. NEXT IMAGE SHOWS A COOPER CONICAL FORM WITH EXPLOSIVES; THIS IS THE HEAT CHARACTERISTIC ELEMENT.

4 HIGH EXPLOSIVE ANTITANK (HEAT) THIS IS AMUNITION WHICH CAN BE LAUNCHED FROM A MBT. ON THE LEFT 120MM MULTIPURPOSE HEAT; ON THE RIGHT, SPECIFIC ANTI-ARMOUR HEAT.

5 HIGH EXPLOSIVE ANTITANK (HEAT) PORTABLE ROCHET PROPULSED GRENADES (RPG) ARE THE MOST EXTENDED HEAT VERSION. LOW COST AND EASY-TO-USE MADE TO BE USED FOR A LARGE NUMBER OR ARMIES AND ARMED GROUPS. SHOWED HERE RPG-7, (UPPER) WITH SINGLE AND TANDEM WARHEAD; (DOWN) RPG-29 USED IN LEBANON AGAINST ISRAEL MILITARY FORCES.

6 HIGH EXPLOSIVE ANTITANK (HEAT) ALMOST EXISTS A LARGE NUMBER OF ANTITANK MISSILES, WITH SINGLE OR DOUBLE WAR HEAD.

7 THE RPG TODAY NOWADAYS RPG´S ARE DESTROYING A LARGE NUMBER OF ADVANCED BATTLE TANKS IN WAR THREATERS. FOR EXAMPLE, LEBANON, WHERE ISRAEL FORCES LOST A LOT OF MERKAVA MBT, FAMOUS FOR ITS EXCELENT ARMOUR, THE BEST IN THE WORLD. IN IRAK US ARMY ARE LOSING MANY ABRAMS AND OTHER TYPES OF ARMOURED VEHICLES. 60% OF CASUALTIES MAY BE CAUSED BY RPG´S ATTACKS.

8 HOW A HEAT WARHEAD WORKS THE WAY OF WORK OF HEAT WARHEAD IS VERY SIMPLE. THE EXPLOSIVE EXPLOSION FOUND A CONICAL FORM MADE OF COOPER, TUNGSTEN OR DEPLETED URANIUM. USING THE CONICAL FORM, THE FORCES ARE REDIRECTED TO THE ARMOUR WHERE THE MATERIAL IMPACTS WITH A 8000 M/S SPEED, AND 10 MILLION KG/CM2 PRESSURE. THE AREA OF IMPACT IS VERY LITTLE, AND THE ARMOUR IS BROKEN, THE MATERIAL GETS INTO THE VEHICLE AND KILLS THE STAFF.

9 LOW EFECTIVENESS PROTECION SYSTEMS AGAINST HEAT NOWADAYS THE PROCESS TO TRY AVOIDING HEAT EFECTS ARE, IN ONE WAY APPLIED OVER THE ARMOUR EXPLOSIVES, CALLED REACTIVE ARMOUR, WHICH EXPLOSION EJECTS THE HIGH PRESSURE MATERIAL. THIS SYSTEM DOESN´T WORK AGAINST RPG-29, WITH DOUBLE WARHEAD IN TANDEM. OTHERWISE IT IS TRIED TO INCREASE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE EXPLOSION AND THE ARMOUR BY USING INTER METALIC SPACES AND METALLIC LATTICEWORKS, GETTING A LOW EFFICIENCY.

10 FEATURES OF DARM PROTECTION SYSTEM THE SYSTEM ENABLES IT TO AVOID THE EFFECTS FROM HEAT MUNITION FOR IT-SELF, USING SINGLE WARHEAD OR TAMDEM WARHEAD. THE DARM SYSTEM CAN BE IMPLEMENTED FROM THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE OBTAINING AN IMPORTANT REDUCTION OF WEIGHT AND SPACE. IT CAN BE INSTALLED ALSO IN EXISTING VEHICLES, INCREASING NOTABLY THEIR SAFETY. DARM SYSTEM IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE INSTALLATION OF EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS (REACTIVE ARMOUR). DARM CAN RESIST MANY IMPACTS AT THE ONCE.
