1 Winston Churchill Prime Minister of Great Britain during WWII. Famous for his V for victory sign and his inspiring speeches. Although some people did not like his speeches. “We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” One of the “Big Three” Leaders

2 Franklin D. Roosevelt “FDR” United States President during the Great Depression and most of WWII. Was famous for his “fireside chats” during WWII, in which he would give a radio talk. Also famous for his line which described Pearl Harbor as a “date which will live in infamy.” One of the “Big Three” Leaders.

3 Joseph Stalin Communist Dictator of Russia during WWII. Signed The Nazis- Soviet Non-Aggression Pact in 1939, which caused Stalin to ignore the Nazis invasion of Poland. Entered WWII, when Hitler surprised attacked Russia, breaking the NSNA Pact of One of the “Big Three” Leaders.

5 General George S. Patton General of the United States 3 rd Army ( ) At the beginning of WWII, commanded troops in North Africa and Sicily. 3 rd Army wowed people with their fast sweep across France, they were always on the move. Known for not mincing words; a straight talker. Though this quality was admired by many, it got him in trouble several times.

6 General Douglas MacArthur Commander of the United States Army in the Philippines at the time of the Pearl Harbor bombing. President Franklin Roosevelt commanded him to leave his troops behind and go to safety. At first he refused but then under pressure he left. Upon his leaving the Philippines, he gave a speech in which he famously said, “I shall return.” He did return. Leading the Allied forces to victory in Asia using the “leap frog” technic.

7 General Dwight D. Eisenhower Supreme Commander of all Allied forces at the end of WWII during the D-Day Invasion. United States General Nickname was “Ike” After WWII, he was elected president of the United States.

8 Hitler Adolf Hitler Leader of Nazis Germany during WWII. Rose to power by promising to make Germany great again and by making Jews the scapegoat for all Germany’s problems. Began WWII by invading Poland on September 1, 1939.

9 Mussolini Benito Mussolini Fascist Dictator of Italy during WWII. "The Mediterranean will be turned into an Italian lake.“ Took over Libya and Egypt at the beginning of WWII. Was executed in 1945 by being shot.
