Revision Tip # 1 One sentence = one job. Find the verb and use it. “The committee had made the following recommendations” “The committee recommends the following” Avoid Run-On Sentences
Revision Tip # 2 Stick with capitalizing proper nouns and official titles. If you can’t figure out the rule: Be consistent. Watch Capitalization
“Develop mentoring program.” Revision Tip # 3 Describe current work in present tense. Describe past work in past tense. Never write a resume in future tense. Check the Tenses “Developed mentoring program” “Will develop mentoring program.”
Revision Tip # 4 Remember, this is about YOU! Describe your actions. Was sent to international symposium to represent the firm. Represented firm at international symposium. Use the Active Voice
