Example: Figure Skater A figure skater with a mass of 50kg spins at 308 RPM when her arms and legs are tight to her body. What is her angular velocity when she extends both of her arms and one leg? With arms and legs tight to her body she can be modeled as a cylinder of radius 0.2 m. Assume that her arms and legs can likewise be modeled as cylinders, that her arms have a combined mass of 8 kg and a tip-tip length of 1.5 m, and that her leg has a mass of 10 kg and a length of 0.5 m.
