Academic orientation: this POP intends to add value to the grade formation of graduates in Health Sciences and Social Sciences. Professional orientation: to train Health professionals and the professionals of Social Sciences in the needs and social and direction of gerontological centres. Research orientation: to facilitate the incorporation of professionals in the field of the gerontological research The pos graduate in gerontology consists of a Master of 120 credits, in the specialty of Social Gerontology (University of Madeira, University of Coruña, University of Santiago de Compostela, Universidade of Açores and Universidade of Gran Canária). FIRST YEAR (60 credits) The students will study 55 common to all universities and complete until 60 credits according to the elective subjects offered. SECOND YEAR (60 credits) The students will study 50 credits related of the present course and 10 credits of elective subjects To have access to the doctorate courses, once obtained a minimum of 60 credits in Official postgraduate programmes or possessing the official degree of Masters, students could apply for their admission, whenever they have completed a minimum of 300 credits in their Superior Courses degree and Postgraduate together.
