In the story “Esperanza Rising” and “The Pig Man” Lorraine and Esperanza both think they know it all. But Lorraine isn't rich and has to listen to strict rules, Esperanza is rich and doesn’t have to listen to anyone's orders.
In “The Pig Man” John is a rebel who doesn’t cares bout anything, except the pig man and of course Lorraine.
On the other hand, in “Esperanza Rising” Miguel is the good boy type who cares about his family and Esperanza too.

Then Lorraine cheats and picked a number who was Mr. Pignati then she asks him if he wants to give money to a charity called L &J fund Lorraine and John) the conflict is that they never were in a charity and he gave ten dollars. But then Lorraine regrets taking money from an old lonely man. But John still wants more money from him .The resolution is that they eventually become friends with Mr.pignatti , AKA the pig man has a heart attack and has to go to the hospital ,while he was in the hospital john and Lorraine had a party at his house then they messed up all his stuff and when he got home they all went to the zoo and found out that a monkey named bobo had died and pigman really loved him and when he found out the news mr.pignatti was devistated and died.
