11 Statement In most cases when a woman was raped, she was asking for it If a woman is going to be raped she might as well enjoy it Women provoke rape by their appearance or behavior A woman should be responsible for preventing her victimization in a rape The degree of a woman’s resistance should be the major factor in determining if a rape has occurred In order to protect the male, it should be difficult to prove that a rape has occurred It would do some women some good to get raped PERCENTAGE OF MEN AGREEING 17 PERCENTAGE OF WOMEN AGREEING 4 4 17 59 32 40 41 40 8 15 18 27 38

12 Statement I prefer relatively small women I like to dominate a woman I enjoy the conquest part of sex Some women look like they’re just asking to be raped I get excited when a woman struggles over sex It would be exciting to use force to subdue a woman PERCENTAGE AGREEING 93.7 91.3 86.1 83.5 63.5 61.7

14 How to Prevent Sexual Assault Trust your feelings Don’t allow room for misinterpretation when you say “No” keep control of your environment Use the buddy system Never force anyone to have sex, even if it seems like they are“leading” you on “No” means “NO” Speak up if you are getting a double message from someone Don’t assume that you know what the other person wants

15 REMEMBER: RAPE = CONTROL & POWER, NOT SEX!
