2 Wisconsin Department of Health Services What is SBIRT? Screening: administer a brief behavioral health screen to ascertain student risk

3 Wisconsin Department of Health Services DPI endorses several standardized screening instruments to examine a range of behavioral health concerns, including alcohol/drug involvement.

4 Wisconsin Department of Health Services Screening typically shows one of three results in terms of risk for problems: 1)No or low risk 2)Moderate risk 3)High risk

5 Wisconsin Department of Health Services What is SBIRT? Screening Brief Intervention proceeds for students who show moderate or high risk results o protocol-guided o focuses on a specific behavior o 1-4 sessions lasting minutes each
