Physical Features of the Earth First Grade
Objectives Students will gain knowledge of the physical features of earth (hill, lake, river, mountain, forest).
Materials Two pictures of each physical feature (lake, river, hill, mountain, forest) Index cards with names of physical features.
Student Activities Students will be given multiple pictures of each physical feature. Students will be given the name of each feature written on an index card. Students will match the name of each Physical feature to the picture of each physical feature
A lake is a large body of inland water.
A river is a large natural stream of water.
A hill is a rounded elevation of land, smaller than a mountain.
A mountain is a land mass that rises above it’s surroundings and is higher than a hill.
A forest is a growth of trees covering a large area.
