2 Elements of an e-booktrailer … sound – audio – voice and soundtrack visual – images and video atmosphere – text, animation, duration, sound and visual storyboarding – audience, content, process, presentation, reflection, criteria - pace, clarity, engaging, stirring, emotional match to story -atmosphere, use of software functionality, transitions, -effects, animation - exciting, humour/intrigue, just right to convey message -smooth, captivates, compels, persuasive text, matched to audience, key scenes/themes, creativity, clear

3 Sound Music: Does it engage the listener? Is it appropriate for the book? Does it elicit a response from the viewer? Voice: Does the voice match the video or image? How can volume levels create the effect you want? Use Audacity or Ucreate music to help.Ucreate music Listen and have others listen to ensure sound clarity.

4 Visual Use photos/drawings/artwork/video or a combination. How can images give the impression and atmosphere of the book? Try: shadow puppets or silhouettes student drawings, spotlight, pausing or zooming on an image. What emotional response can colours elicit?colours Consider colour contrast. 5 Visual  Consider the timing and transitions for pace and flow.  Do the images draw the viewer in to: - arouse curiosity -create enthusiasm for the topic eg through humour.

6 Atmosphere Have a hook for the audience to: get people interested or excited about the book grab their attention with the first frame set the mood and convey the ‘feeling’ of the book use music and sound be mysterious and invite curiosity. Length is important. Not too long or too short but enough to give a quick ‘taste’ of the book.

7 What comes first? Choose your book/s. Look at the concept behind the story rather than focus on the minute details.
