2 Executive summary 2 One in ten pregnant women in the UK experience Group B Strep The awareness level of Group B Strep is at 59%; many come across it from pregnancy books/magazines or parenting websites; some learn it from friends or health professionals The knowledge of Group B Strep doesn’t have major negative impact on pregnancies Over half of mums obtain GBS information on the Internet (from various websites); of people who actively seeking information, half feel there isn’t enough available Almost all agree that women should be informed of GBS and be offered the option of test 95% would take the test if it’s free and 60% would take it at a cost of £35

10 Methodology 10 Questions were run on Bounty’s Word of Mum™ research panel Surveys are run bi-monthly throughout the year Members are recruited on a regular basis Data collected via online questionnaires Questions were asked on the July Word of Mum™ omnibus Survey was carried out between the 15 th and the 31 st of July 2013 A total of 2,102 interviews were achieved, amongst women in the early stages of pregnancy through to mums with a youngest child aged 5 years
