University of Colorado at Boulder Pathways to Broadening Participation in TeraGrid Meeting  Las Vegas, NV  June 10, 2008 Baseline Survey Needs Race/ethnicity, citizenship status, gender Which sciences do these represent? Could ask other questions, but perhaps focus on one open-ended Q:  What recommendations do you have for extending use of TG to underserved groups? Survey: population How can we get people to respond to a survey?

University of Colorado at Boulder Pathways to Broadening Participation in TeraGrid Meeting  Las Vegas, NV  June 10, 2008 Outreach What campus visits are arranged? What is the effectiveness of campus visits? How can visit goals be maximized? What professional events can bring greatest return on investment? What support is given to people representing TG at events and campus visits? (e.g., train the trainer)

University of Colorado at Boulder Pathways to Broadening Participation in TeraGrid Meeting  Las Vegas, NV  June 10, 2008 Outreach What groups are reached?  SBE, people with disabilities, AGEPs (regional workshops?) How can Pathways folks take advantage of users’ networks of contacts?

University of Colorado at Boulder Pathways to Broadening Participation in TeraGrid Meeting  Las Vegas, NV  June 10, 2008 Fellowships What is the effectiveness of the Fellowship program? Who applies, how do they find out about it? What do they do? What are their perceptions of usefulness and usability of TG (various aspects)

University of Colorado at Boulder Pathways to Broadening Participation in TeraGrid Meeting  Las Vegas, NV  June 10, 2008 Mentoring Campus Champions  What support do they need to get started and to support their scientists? (etc.)  Who gets involved?  What do they do? Mentors  Who uses them? Who are the mentors?  What support do mentors need?  Etc.
