20  VA Compulsory Attendance Laws ◦ 6 unexcused = Attendance Contract ◦ 7 unexcused = Truancy Referral to Juvenile Intake  Classroom ◦ 2+ unexcused = 69 grade. ◦ Must be present for 50% of class (45 min)  Excessive tardiness to school/class will not be tolerated.

21  Phones are allowed in the building during non- instructional time. In the classroom, cell phones are only allowed during instruction as directed by the teacher.  Bring Your Own Device

22  Disrespect or defiance of staff members will not be tolerated. ◦ Violations will warrant an out of school suspension.

23  Any form of bullying will not be tolerated ◦ (physical, verbal, written) ◦ Cyberbullying (electronic) ◦ Cyberbaiting (viral videos) *Disciplinary sanctions will be harsh.

24  Students’ dress/appearance shall not disrupt or distract students from the educational process. ◦ Clothing representing or displaying drugs, alcohol, or gangs will not be allowed. ◦ Shorts, dresses, and/or skirts cannot be more than five inches above the knee. ◦ No holes in jeans above the knee ◦ Shoulders must be covered
