4 COMPARATIVE ADJECTIVES

5 Comparative adjectives n We often compare people, animals or things; we say how they are similar or different. n Comparative adjectives are used to talk about the differences between two people, animals or things. The word than often comes after the comparative adjective.

6 Examples: n My school is bigger than yours n Jack is taller than Sara

7 n Circle the comparatives –My sister is nicer than my aunt. Everybody loves her. –My grandma is older than my grandpa –Aunty Sara is younger than Mark –My cousin Carlos is shorter than my brother

13 Superlative adjectives n Superlative adjectives are used to talk about differences between three or more people, animals or things. The word the comes before the superlative adjective.

14 Examples: –I am the tallest in my class –My grandpa is the oldest of all

15 n Circle the superlative. –My brother is the smallest of all his friends –I am the youngest girl in my class. –Camilo is the tallest boy in my school –Sara is the fastest runner of my classmates
