56 Township of Manalapan Office of the Mayor PROCLAMATION Whereas, September 11, 2001, will be a date remembered in history by many as the worst act of terrorism on American Soil, and Whereas, the City of New York was devastated with the loss of the World Trade Center complex and the loss of thousands of Innocent citizens, police officers, firefighters, and rescue workers, and Whereas, the State of New Jersey was placed on a state of emergency as a result of this act of aggression, and assistance in the search and rescue operation for victims of this disaster in New York City was apparent, and Whereas, members of the Manalapan Police Department offered to assist in the search and rescue effort in New York City by volunteering their services for many hours under extremely dangerous and difficult circumstances, and Whereas, the Township of Manalapan wishes to commend the following police officers for their courage and unselfish determination in accomplishing this assignment at ground zero on September 11 th, 13 th, and 15 th. Now, therefore be it resolved, that I, Mary Cozzolino, Mayor of Manalapan Township, and the Township Committee, wishes to show Its appreciation for the quick response, hard work and commitment of these officers and does hereby offer its congratulations on behalf of all the residents of Manalapan Township. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Township of Manalapan to be affixed on this 5 th day of December in the year 2001. Captain Michael J.
