You’ve known that “trick or treating” is an important activity in Halloween. However, do you know how to describe the activity? Here are some pictures, and try to write a sentence for each picture.

Children dress themselves up.
They go to their neighbor’s house and knock on the door.
Who is it? They say, “trick or treat!”
Thank you! The neighbor gives them candy or money and they say thank you.

Activity Three: Some Activities People Do in the Ghost Festival
Lantern poles are hung to call the ghosts. ( 樹燈蒿 )
In some parts of Taiwan salvation lanterns are placed to illuminate the road for the outcast spirits. （普渡公燈）
For the ghosts of those killed by drowning, water lanterns are released on waterways to lead the way to shore. （放水燈）
Giving ching hsien lanterns, a symbolic gesture of respect from the giver to the recipient on the 12th day of the seventh moon.( 送燈獻敬 )
