8 P ROCEDURE W RITE DOWN OR D RAW E ACH S TEP Day One (Tomorrow) 1. Draw a X on the bottom of the petri dish, and label the section A-B-C-D 2. Swab the E.coli on the agar. Draw and S shape, turn, draw another S shape 3. Place a control disk in the center of section A 4. Place a Antibacterial soap in section B Place a Sanitizer in section C Place a Disinfectant in section D 5. Tape petri dish closed and write your name on it

9 P ROCEDURE W RITE DOWN OR D RAW E ACH S TEP Day Two (Monday) 6. Do not open dish! 7. Look for clear zones around the disks. Bacteria will be growing everywhere else. Draw in your results. 8. Measure the diameters of these zones in millimeters and record in the data table.

10 A NTIBIOTICS G RAM - / G RAM + E.coli is gram – negative Kanamycin: Gram – negative, works! Erythromycin: Gram + positive, does not work. Gram + positive Gram – negative (E.coli)
