3 The Great American Songbook   1920 年~ 1950 年にブロードウェイ・ミュー ジカル、映画音楽などのために生み出された アメリカのポピュラー・ソングの中で最も重 要で最も影響をもたらした作品の「基準 ( canon ) 」をいう。   その基準とは、作曲家であり評論家であった Alec Wilder が 1972 年に出版した “American Popular Song: The Great Innovators, 1900– 1950 “ に基づいている。   Book があるわけではない。
