Supply and Demand Analytics Commissioned by Provost Saunders Examined three critical areas of Northwest Florida Workforce –Engineering –Healthcare –Information Technology Why? –Are we producing enough graduates to meet the labor force demands in the region?
The Data and Region Four regions – for comparative perspective –Escambia to Bay Counties –Northwest Florida (traditional 16 counties Escambia to Jefferson) –State –US Three Data Series –Current Market Snapshot (what’s hot now – and how well we are doing) –Annual Data (how well did we do last year) –Five-year forecast (how well will we do in the future if nothing changes)
Interpreting the Data The Data –Total Jobs 2013: Total employment from Escambia to Bay in the Occupation in 2013 –Seeker Posting Ratio: Total number of job seekers on the market divided by the total number of current job postings –Annual Ratio: Total number of “qualified” graduates produced last year divided by total number of openings last year –Five Year Ratio: Total number of graduates forecast for next five years divided by total number of forecast openings –National S/D Ratio: Annual Ratio for US from previous year
Expanded Data Series Analytics worksheet adds numbers to ratios – covering the same base series. Full report – with defined assumptions is available.
