What is 3(x + 4) ? x 4 3 x 3x12 = 3x + 12 3 ‘lots’ of ‘x + 4’

What is 5(2x + 1) ? 2x 1 5 x 10x5 = 10x + 5 5 ‘lots’ of ‘2x + 1’

What is 4(x - 2) ? x -2 4 x 4x-8 = 4x - 8 4 ‘lots’ of ‘x - 2’
