Handa put 7 delicious fruits in a basket and set off to see her friend Akeyo. I wonder which fruit she’ll like the best ?

The monkey took the soft yellow banana monkey

The ostrich took the sweet smelling guava ostrich
Who’s black and white stripes can I see?
The zebra took the juicy orange zebra
Who’s trunk is peeking round the corner?
The elephant took the red ripe mango elephant
Who’s long, tall neck can I see?
The giraffe took the spiky leafed pineapple giraffe
Who is hiding behind the long grass?
The antelope took the creamy green avocado antelope
Who’s that hanging from the tree?
The parrot took the tangy purple passion fruit parrot
Handa put 4 delicus fruits in the basket. She put a crunchy joosy red apple, soft banana, lemon and mango.
This story was written and illustrated by Big Toes (Reception Class) with help from Mr Campbell. It is based on Handa’s Surprise by Eileen Browne.
